It is not about money. It has never been about the money. Money doesn’t buy happiness. Okay, it helps to put a roof over your head and clothing on your back, but it doesn’t buy a smile or a laugh. Happiness is priceless.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. 1 Timothy 6:10
Dare I say, “Happiness is a habit.” In our day-to-day lives it is easy to overlook the forest for the trees and look past the flowers along the way, seeking money when some of the smaller, simpler things will bring us happiness. Smile, it is one of the first interactions between mother and child, and it cost nothing, but it brings untold happiness to mother and child alike. A big sister sharing an ice cream cone with her little brother on a hot summer day is another way to bring happiness into the world.
As adults, we often forget these little things that mean so much to our happiness and well-being. Why, sometimes we forget how to be a child and enjoy life.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness. Charles Spurgeon
