Michaelian Home can date its history in textiles to the 1920s when Frank Michaelian, of Armenian descent, was one of the first Americans to import textiles from the Middle East and India. A world traveler and home body, Frank Michaelian also set up a weaving center in China and started a rug hooking mill in North Carolina.
In doing so, he produced the finest hand knotted rugs, needlepoint pillows, and hooked pillows and rugs.
The legacy continues today.
Just south of Asheville, North Carolina in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, is Hendersonville, a small town and home to Michaelian Home. It is a beautiful place to live and work.
